Outpatient medical service is now one of the major components
of our nation’s health care. PAUL B. HALL REGIONAL
MEDICAL CENTER has expanded its facilities in recent
years, creating new outpatient service areas to better serve
the people of our region and thereby meets their medical
needs.
Outpatient services include general surgery, ophthalmic
surgery, cardiology, radiology,
medical laboratory, respiratory therapy and physical therapy,
as well as cardiology and ophthalmology clinics.
PAUL B. HALL’S outpatient
surgery facilities include a waiting area and six private
evaluation cubicles totally separate from the hospital’s
regular OR waiting and recovery rooms.
Outpatient surgical procedures represent about 75% of the
hospital’s surgical procedures. These include arthroscopy,
colonoscopy, lesions, tubal ligations, cataract laser surgery
and smaller orthopedic procedures.
The hospital’s Radiology
Department is a mainstay of both outpatient and
inpatient services. Our Radiology Department, staffed by a
full-time Board
Certified Radiologist and certified Radiologic Technologists,
performs more than 500 procedures each week. Ultrasounds, CAT
Scans, MRIs, X-Rays, mammography and even more sophisticated
diagnostic procedures are available to outpatients as well as
hospital patients.
Stress tests, EKGs and other
state-of-the-art diagnostics are available to our family
physicians and our cardiology specialists and their patients.
Other outpatient services available through PAUL B. HALL’S
Respiratory Therapy Department and our Cardiology Clinics
include pulmonary functions tests, Holter
monitoring and arterial blood gas analysis.
Patients, and their physicians, seeking
outpatient services at PAUL B. HALL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
are increasing at a rapid rate and the staff, facilities and
equipment at Paintsville’s hospital of choice are ready to
serve them.
